Problem Solvers or Party Soldiers? Horsford and Lee Exposed as Hypocrites in Lockstep with Socialist Democrats

Nevada’s so-called “Problem Solvers” Democrats Reps. Steven Horsford and Susie Lee – are proving they’re more interested in toeing the party line than solving any real problems for Nevada families. Both members belong to the Problem Solvers Caucus, a group that claims to be “split between Republicans and Democrats committed to advancing common-sense solutions” through bipartisan cooperation. But when push comes to shove, Horsford and Lee have repeatedly sided with their party’s socialist leadership instead of working toward the compromise they publicly preach.
Republican Rep. Mike Lawler, a member of the same caucus, summed up the growing frustration this week, tweeting: “Any House member of Problem Solvers who votes no on the Senate compromise CR to open up the government, should immediately resign from Problem Solvers and admit they aren’t serious about governing.” His comments came as Democrats like Horsford and Lee once again railed against opening the government after they voted to keep the government closed rather than accept a commonsense bipartisan continuing resolution (CR) that would have ensured paychecks for troops, border agents, and federal workers.
The irony couldn’t be clearer. Horsford and Lee love the optics of bipartisanship when the cameras are rolling but when it comes time to govern, they fold to the same far-left radicals running the modern Democratic Party. Both have voted against President Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill,” a border security measure that would have protected Americans and restored law and order at the southern border. They also opposed the “No Tax on Tips Act,” legislation that would’ve given service industry workers, many of them in Nevada’s hospitality sector, a well-deserved tax break. Even worse, both were later caught trying to take credit for the very relief they voted against, proving that when it comes to hypocrisy, Horsford and Lee don’t just play the game, they wrote the rulebook.
Instead of standing up for Nevadans, Horsford and Lee have joined their party’s effort to weaponize government shutdowns for political leverage, leaving hardworking families, veterans, and small businesses hanging in the balance. That’s not “problem solving”—it’s politics as usual from career politicians more interested in Washington applause than Nevada paychecks.
The hypocrisy runs deep. Horsford and Lee aren’t alone in this act. Other Democrats in the so-called Problem Solvers Caucus – including Jim Costa (CA-21), Josh Harder (CA-9),Darren Soto (FL-9), Emilia Strong Sykes (OH-13), and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (WA-3) – have all voted the same way. They talk about bipartisanship but vote in lockstep with the radical base of the Democrat Party, whose priorities are open borders, higher taxes, and endless political games.
The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) has been quick to call out this hypocrisy, highlighting how these Democrats brand themselves as moderates while behaving like foot soldiers for the far-left. Their votes reveal the truth: they are not “Problem Solvers.” They’re Problem Makers, enabling dysfunction in Washington while hurting the very people they claim to represent.
Nevadans deserve leaders who put country before party and results before rhetoric. Steven Horsford and Susie Lee have shown time and again that when the choice is between doing what’s right for their constituents or obeying their party bosses, they’ll choose the latter. Their actions prove what many voters already suspect, there’s nothing “bipartisan” about the modern Democratic Party.
As Rep. Lawler put it, anyone unwilling to govern responsibly should resign from the Problem Solvers Caucus and drop the pretense. Horsford and Lee have made their choice, and it wasn’t Nevada.
