Trump Takes War on Antifa Global, Launches Campaign to Crush Radical Left Terror Networks

President Donald Trump is taking the fight against radical-left political violence worldwide, launching an international campaign to dismantle the financial networks, safe houses, propaganda channels, and cross-border operations that the administration says sustain violent extremist organizations.

The Trump administration convened senior officials from foreign governments Thursday for what the White House described as an unprecedented international offensive against transnational left-wing terrorism. Administration officials said far-left extremist networks will now face the same counterterrorism pressure historically directed at jihadist organizations, including intelligence sharing, financial sanctions, criminal investigations, and coordinated international enforcement.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Western governments and national security agencies have spent years refusing to acknowledge the threat because it did not fit the political narrative favored by the left. Rubio accused the counterterrorism establishment of maintaining a “blind spot” toward extremist violence committed in the name of Marxism, anarchism, anti-fascism, and other radical-left causes.

Rubio also warned that the threat is increasingly international. According to the administration, Antifa militants and affiliated extremists travel between Europe and the Americas, exchange training materials and information through encrypted communications, use underground networks of safe houses, and receive money from transnational funding sources. The administration says those connections transform what are often portrayed as isolated protests or local riots into a coordinated international security threat.

The Treasury Department will lead the financial assault. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced that his department is expanding investigations into organizations that may be abusing nonprofit and charitable structures to move money, facilitate foreign influence, or finance political violence. Bessent vowed that the administration would pursue the financial networks supporting extremist activity, regardless of how respectable their public-facing organizations may appear.

Bessent said the United States designated four foreign Antifa extremist organizations as foreign terrorist organizations last fall, restricting their access to the American financial system and other resources. He argued that the resurgence of far-left terrorism is transnational by design and requires governments to combine intelligence, law enforcement, diplomatic, and financial authorities to dismantle it.

The international campaign builds upon the domestic counterterrorism strategy Trump established in September 2025. That policy directed the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Forces to investigate the full infrastructure behind organized political violence, including radicalization, recruitment, funding, nonprofit involvement, financial crimes, intimidation campaigns, and the violent acts themselves.

The strategy also ordered federal prosecutors to pursue crimes associated with organized political violence, including coordinated doxing, swatting, rioting, property destruction, and attempts to obstruct lawful government activity. Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service were directed to identify financial networks and tax-exempt organizations that directly or indirectly support violence, while federal agencies were instructed to consider groups meeting established criteria for potential terrorism-related action.

The White House pointed to a growing list of criminal cases as evidence that the threat is neither imaginary nor confined to angry online rhetoric. In June, federal authorities charged 15 alleged Antifa-linked operatives in connection with a conspiracy to obstruct immigration enforcement operations in Minneapolis. The administration has also highlighted prosecutions involving attacks or alleged plots against immigration facilities, law enforcement officers, government buildings, businesses, and political figures in Oregon, Texas, Washington, New Jersey, California, and Indiana.

In several of those cases, defendants have been convicted or pleaded guilty. Others remain charged and are entitled to the presumption of innocence. The administration argues that the broader pattern nevertheless demonstrates a level of organization extending beyond spontaneous demonstrations, with participants allegedly using surveillance, communications networks, coordinated blockades, incendiary devices, weapons, and targeted intimidation.

Rubio said the proportion of terrorist attacks and plots attributed to the political left has reached levels not seen in decades, according to the administration. The White House says the threat has been allowed to grow because political leaders, news organizations, universities, and activist groups frequently dismissed left-wing violence as justified resistance, isolated unrest, or a conservative conspiracy theory.

Homeland Security Advisor Stephen Miller said the federal government would not allow violent organizations to hide behind cynical appeals to civil liberties while attacking police officers, obstructing federal operations, or terrorizing political opponents. The administration’s governing documents distinguish protected speech and lawful protest from criminal intimidation, financing, conspiracy, property destruction, and physical violence, but officials made clear that ideological branding will no longer shield violent actors from investigation.

The campaign carries clear implications for Nevada, where public safety, support for law enforcement, and the security of major gatherings remain critical concerns. The administration’s message is that political violence cannot be excused, minimized, or selectively ignored simply because its perpetrators claim to be fighting fascism, capitalism, immigration enforcement, or other targets of the radical left.

For years, conservatives watched Antifa militants riot, attack police, destroy property, and obstruct government operations while much of the political establishment pretended no organized threat existed. Trump is declaring that era over.

The administration is now targeting the people who commit the violence, the organizations that coordinate it, the financiers who sustain it, and the international networks that help it spread. Under Trump’s new campaign, radical-left terrorists will no longer receive a political pass. They will receive the full force of American counterterrorism power.
