Nevada Senator Dr. Carrie Buck Goes Rogue. Loses in Court. Again.

Rogue LLC loses second lawsuit ‘with prejudice’

Over the last few months, watching politics in Nevada has been like watching an unscripted reality TV show. The suspense, the drama, the name-calling, the-in fighting, the lawsuits, and even restraining orders have been flying around between two warring factions within the body of the Clark County GOP, formally known as the Clark County Republican Central Committee (CCRCC).  As mentioned in The Nevada Globe interview of newly-elected Clark County Chairman, Jesse Law, there was a judicial ruling, followed by a state party and Secretary of State acknowledgement that Law and his board were the official committee of the CCRCC.

However, the losing party, formally known as Rogue LLC and led by Dr. Carrie Buck, state senator from Henderson, threw a last minute, Hail Mary lawsuit today to try and stop the county delegates and state party from convening and holding their election in Winnemucca this Saturday–an election that will decide who will be Chairman and the board of the Nevada Republican Party (NVGOP).

In the lawsuit, Rogue LLC accuses the Nevada Republican Party of trying to hold the election before the Clark County leadership dispute is settled, which could affect who represents the state’s most populous county—Clark County. Rogue wants to put the meeting on hold until the delegates of Clark can be determined.

Less than two hours later, Humboldt County District Judge Michael Montero dismissed the lawsuit with prejudice saying the court does not have jurisdiction over a political party’s internal dispute—which mirrors the decision from the previous lawsuit.

The Nevada GOP issued this statement after the ruling:
