LAS VEGAS – A man with a rifle was shot and killed by North Las Vegas police in a neighborhood late on Saturday night.
According to Sgt. Jeff Wall of the North Las Vegas Police Department, officers went to the 4300 block of Westmere Avenue, west of Aviary Way, and south of Grand Teton Drive. This is where a resident said he saw a man with a long pole in the backyard of a house on his street.
The neighbor said that the man seemed to be drunk or on drugs. Wall said that when the resident confronted the man, the man asked the resident if he wanted to die.
After exchanging gunfire, the individual was wounded and confirmed dead at University Medical Center, Wall said.
According to Wall, nobody else was hurt.
