A Man Was Shot During an Argument in a CVS Parking Lot
LAS VEGAS – A guy was shot and killed Thursday morning after an incident in a Las Vegas CVS parking lot.
Police haven’t caught the gunman, who opened fire around 9:30 a.m.
According to Lt. Jason Johansson of the Metropolitan Police Department, two males argued in a parking lot on Maryland Parkway near Karen Avenue and Sahara Avenue.
The victim, a Hispanic male in his 30s, was shot by a white man with blond hair, Johansson said.
During a verbal altercation, a white male adult shot our victim and fled, Johansson, said. “We don’t know what caused the fight.”
He stated the shot man died at the site.
ShotSpotter notified authorities of the incident using strategically placed sensors.
Johansson said officers were interviewing witnesses and reviewing security footage to discover the shooter’s escape route.
Johansson said the shooting wasn’t random.
“It’s concerning,” he added of the daylight shooting.
Detectives closed Karen Street between Maryland Parkway and State Street while investigating.
Anyone with information should call the Metropolitan Police Department’s homicide department or Crime Stoppers of Nevada.
