A Nevada Couple Suspected of Mail Theft Was Caught After Escaping Police in a Stolen Car

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – A couple suspected of stealing mail were apprehended in Mesquite by police after eluding them in a stolen vehicle, according to authorities.

Roger Theodore Jenkins, 55, of Pahrump, and Lindsey Fay Sarac, 34, of Las Vegas, are both facing various felony counts, including criminal possession of a stolen vehicle and felony fleeing.

Officers in Mesquite responded to many allegations of mail theft during the previous several months, including reports of fraud as a consequence of stolen personal information, according to police.

Detectives got security footage of the suspects driving a huge flatbed truck. According to a police report, the vehicle was later revealed to have been stolen from Las Vegas.

A Mesquite officer noticed the truck at a fast food drive-through on Monday, Dec. 5. Additional officers were dispatched in an attempt to stop the car, but the driver drove away, jumped a curb and nearly colliding with two police vehicles, according to authorities.

According to authorities, the suspects continued to drive dangerously as they ran from officers, nearly colliding with a family on bikes.

A neighboring cop noticed the two fleeing after ditching the truck and ultimately located them. According to the police report, the woman had a firearm that she attempted to throw away while fleeing.

The two were swiftly apprehended and arrested. According to police, the lady was carrying many stolen credit and identity cards, and when they searched the truck, they discovered a full pistol magazine and other burglary equipment.

Officers also discovered that both suspects are wanted for questioning.
