LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – Starbucks employees at Rainbow and Oakey Boulevards petitioned the National Labor Relations Board to unionize on Tuesday.
This comes as Starbucks employees around the country have been unionizing in increasing numbers in recent months. The Rainbow and Oakey location is the company’s first in Nevada to seek a union election.
Starbucks Workers United, an employee organizing organization, informed Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz of their intention to create a union.
According to the letter, “no modifications have been taken to ensure a safe work environment,” and employees “have been hushed” during the unionization process.
