A $500,000 grant initiative has been launched to support dozens of small businesses in Clark County’s District D—covering parts of Sunrise Manor, Las Vegas, and North Las Vegas. Spearheaded by County Commissioner William McCurdy II, the program offers up to $5,000 for home-based operations and up to $10,000 for storefronts . Administered through the Urban Chamber and Latin Chamber of Commerce, it aims to bolster local enterprises affected by recent economic challenges, including the temporary closure of Broadacres Marketplace .
Eligible applicants must have fewer than 20 full-time employees, maintain an active business license since at least mid‑2024, be free of tax liens, and physically operate within District D . The grant operates on a competitive, first-come, first-served basis, allowing recipients discretion in how they apply the funds—whether for operational needs or growth initiatives .
Commissioner McCurdy emphasized that the new grants complement existing efforts to support local businesses amid broader economic uncertainty .
