Early Morning Discovery: Man’s Body Located Near Las Vegas Interstate
By TheNevadaGlobeStaff, May 1, 2025 4:02 pm
In the early hours of Thursday, May 1, 2025, Las Vegas once again found itself grappling with unsettling news. A man’s body was discovered near the off-ramp from westbound Interstate 11 to northbound Martin Luther King Boulevard, adjacent to the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s complex at 1111 W. Bonanza Road. An eyewitness reported the body was inside a bag, and a foul odor led a security guard to the grim find around 1 a.m. The Metropolitan Police Department responded promptly, and officers assisted the coroner in what was classified as a non-criminal/medical case. As of Thursday afternoon, the Clark County coroner’s office had not released a cause of death.
This incident raises pressing questions about public safety and the effectiveness of our community vigilance. How does a body remain unnoticed until a foul smell prompts investigation? Are there gaps in our surveillance and community awareness that need addressing? While the authorities have not indicated foul play, the circumstances underscore the importance of proactive measures to ensure such occurrences are promptly identified and addressed.
