Fifth Arrest Made in Connection with Las Vegas Homicide

LAS VEGAS – A fifth suspect has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of Darian Gonzales in Las Vegas this past January. Police in El Centro, California, took a 17-year-old male into custody and he awaits extradition back to Las Vegas.
Background on the Case
On January 2nd, 2024, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police responded to a report of a shooting in an apartment complex on North Torrey Pines Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered 29-year-old Darian Gonzales deceased from a gunshot wound. Another individual at the scene sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the incident.
The initial investigation revealed that multiple people were inside the apartment when the shooting occurred but fled before police arrived.
Arrest and Charges
The 17-year-old suspect was apprehended in California and is currently being held in a detention facility. He faces charges of open murder with a deadly weapon, robbery with a deadly weapon, and conspiracy to commit robbery.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department indicates that the investigation into the homicide remains active.
