Following Her Arrest for Tragic DUI Accident on Fremont Street Woman Posts $100,000 Bail

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – After posting bond, the woman accused of murdering two people in a hit-and-run DUI on Fremont Street on December 28 showed up in court on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old Mykael Terrell is accused of two charges of reckless driving, two counts of DUI that caused death, and two counts of leaving the scene of an accident without stopping.

The fatalities were named as Kristie Baxter, 51, and William Baxter, Jr., 44, both of Hobbs, New Mexico, by the coroner’s office. Kristie Baxter passed away in the hospital, but William Baxter was pronounced dead at the spot.

Terrell appeared in court on Wednesday after posting a $100,000 bail and informed the judge that she was unable to afford legal representation at this time. She was given a public defender to represent her.

One of the requirements for Terrell’s release was that she be put on electronic monitoring, refrain from getting into trouble, and refrain from driving.

Her next hearing will take place on January 18 at 9:30.
