Gun Found at Ed W. Clark High School, Two Juveniles Arrested

Las Vegas, NV – Two juveniles were arrested at Ed W. Clark High School on Wednesday after a firearm was found on campus, according to the Clark County School District Police Department (CCSDPD).
No Threats Made, Investigation Ongoing:
- The CCSDPD confirmed that no threats were made to the school and that both individuals were apprehended without incident.
- The recovered firearm is being investigated by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) and the ATF firearms task force.
Reminder for Parents and Gun Owners:
- Following the incident, the CCSDPD issued a reminder to parents to discuss with their children what they are not allowed to bring to school.
- They also highlighted that possessing certain firearms is illegal for individuals under 21 in Nevada.
- Responsible gun ownership was emphasized, urging owners to secure their firearms and report stolen weapons promptly.
School Principal’s Message:
- Principal Zeola Braxton addressed the school community through an email, assuring them of their commitment to student safety and open communication.
- While details about the involved students are confidential, she confirmed that appropriate disciplinary action will be taken as per district policies.
- Principal Braxton encouraged students and parents to report any potential safety concerns through various channels like SafeVoice, a dedicated reporting system.
