Henderson, NV – The Henderson Police Department has launched a new initiative to provide additional support to victims of domestic violence in the community.
On Tuesday, the department announced the distribution of Strangulation Resource Kits to all patrol cars. These kits are designed to assist officers in identifying and addressing internal injuries caused by strangulation, which often do not leave visible external marks.
Strangulation can have severe consequences, including unconsciousness and brain damage, due to oxygen deprivation. The new kits will equip officers with the necessary tools to identify potential internal injuries and ensure that victims receive appropriate medical attention.
Authorities emphasize that survivors of strangulation are at a higher risk of future violence. It is crucial for individuals experiencing domestic violence to seek help immediately.
For assistance from the Henderson Police Department Victim/Witness Advocate program, please call 702-267-4727. In case of an emergency, always call 911.
