Gunshot Involving One of Henderson Police Department Officers Has Been Reported

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – The Henderson Police Department has reported a shooting involving one of its officers.

It happened approximately 11:55 a.m. on Tuesday, close to College Drive and Paradise Hills Drive

According to police, the first call was about a family disturbance involving a suicidal person. A caller informed dispatchers that the individual planned to resist authorities in order to force them to shoot him.

When police came, the individual was armed with a long gun, and officers traded shots.

According to the Henderson prisoner website, Mark Ellsworth, 19, was arrested and his bail was set at $40,000.

Smoke was spotted streaming from the house at one point. Residents were evacuated.

There were no reported injuries to the individual or the cops.
