Henderson Standoff: More Details Emerge After Weekend Incident

New details regarding the tense standoff that unfolded in Henderson over the weekend have come to light.
Standoff Begins
On Friday, April 12th, at approximately 11:20 AM, officers responded to a residence on the 200 block of Callen Falls Avenue in Henderson. Their objective: apprehend 31-year-old Trevor Cooper, a suspect wanted in connection with a violent felony case.
Extensive Charges
Cooper was initially facing charges of first-degree kidnapping, conspiracy to commit kidnapping, battery resulting in substantial bodily harm, and administering a drug to aid in a felony crime.
Standoff Escalates
The situation escalated into a standoff lasting until early Sunday morning. Tragically, authorities reported finding Cooper deceased inside his home.
Additional Charges Emerge
Had Cooper survived the encounter, he would have faced further charges including assault with a deadly weapon on a protected person, possession of a short-barreled rifle, resisting arrest with a firearm, discharging a firearm in an occupied structure, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
Six Firearms Recovered
A total of six firearms were recovered from the scene.
