LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – A warrant in your name for a driving offence may no longer be a problem.
The city of Las Vegas Municipal Court stated Wednesday that roughly 35,000 active warrants had been quashed – or canceled – along with the costs attached, in accordance with a new statute dealing to minor traffic offences.
Assembly Bill 116 was enacted into law by the Nevada Legislature in 2021. Some small offences that were formerly classified as criminal misdemeanors are now classified as civil infractions.
Fines must be paid, and tickets can be reported to insurance and collection agencies.
You can check the court’s website to discover if your case is affected. You may also reach us at 702-38COURT.
