LAS VEGAS, NV — Detectives with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Section are actively processing evidence and canvassing a neighborhood in the southeast valley following a fatal Thursday morning shooting.

The Morning Emergency Response

The active public safety investigation unfolded just before 8:40 AM on Thursday, June 4, 2026. The LVMPD communications center received multiple frantic calls from area residents reporting a rapid succession of gunfire echoing through a residential corridor.

Uniformed patrol units immediately swarmed the neighborhood, establishing a grid containment perimeter around the 4900 block of Lana Drive, located just southwest of the intersection of East Harmon Avenue and South Nellis Boulevard.

Active Homicide Investigation
