LAS VEGAS, NV — Official ballot tracking data unsealed by the Clark County Election Department on Thursday afternoon has revealed a shifting political landscape following Tuesday’s primary elections, marked by a decisive victory on the Republican side and a major progressive upset in the Democratic field.

The finalized ballot trends come as county election workers continue to process remaining mail-in ballots under Southern Nevada’s newly expanded signature and paper verification protocols.

The Commission District F Layout

In the highly contentious open race to represent Clark County Commission District F, Republican Assemblywoman Heidi Kasama comfortably secured her party’s nomination, defeating primary opponent Albert Mack following a high-profile, multi-month campaign focused heavily on regional land use and public safety funding.

On the Democratic ticket for District F, progressive commercial real estate professional Minja Yan pulled off a significant upset victory over establishment favorite Minddie Lloyd. Lloyd had entered primary night carrying the political momentum of endorsements from multiple sitting county commissioners, making Yan’s grassroots victory one of the most notable intra-party shifts of the 2026 local cycle.

Low Turnout Metrics and Next Phases

Despite Clark County boasting more than 1.5 million registered voters across its urban and rural sectors, overall participation remained notably low. Election officials confirmed that approximately 250,600 total ballots were cast across mail-in, early voting, and traditional in-person polling sites on Tuesday.

The winners of both primary brackets will now immediately pivot toward the November general election, where control of the powerful seven-member county commission—which oversees the operations of the Las Vegas Strip and a multi-billion dollar municipal budget—will be decided.
