KB Home Secures First Land Parcel in Planned North Las Vegas Community
By TheNevadaGlobeStaff, January 9, 2026 10:50 am
A major homebuilder has completed the first land purchase in a large master-planned community proposed for the far northern edge of Las Vegas, marking an early step in a development expected to add thousands of homes to the region.
KB Home acquired approximately 38.6 acres located along the north side of Tropical Parkway, west of the current developed area. The purchase represents the first land sale within a new community planned to eventually include about 3,500 residential units.
The broader development is designed to expand housing options as growth continues to push outward from the Las Vegas Valley. While construction timelines and home types have not yet been publicly detailed, the initial land transaction signals the start of builder participation in the project.
Large-scale residential developments in the area are often phased over several years, with infrastructure and additional land sales occurring incrementally as market demand evolves.
