Las Vegas-Based Amazing Brands Acquires ‘Hot Dog on a Stick’ for $8 Million in Bankruptcy Court Sale

LAS VEGAS, NV — In a major expansion of its local food and hospitality portfolio, Las Vegas-based Amazing Brands has officially finalized an $8 million bankruptcy court-approved acquisition of the iconic fast-casual chain Hot Dog on a Stick.
The strategic buyout saves the historic 80-year-old American brand from corporate liquidation while establishing Las Vegas as its new operational launchpad.
Rescuing an Iconic Brand Out of Bankruptcy
The transaction was approved by a federal bankruptcy judge following Chapter 11 proceedings filed earlier this year by Hot Dog on a Stick’s former parent company, Fat Brands, which had been burdened by more than $1 billion in long-term debt. Amazing Brands—founded and led by Las Vegas investor and Siegel Suites landlord Stephen Siegel—stepped in as the winning bidder to absorb the legacy corn dog and fresh-squeezed lemonade concept.
While the chain once boasted more than 100 locations across the country, corporate mismanagement and declining mall foot traffic had shrunk its total footprint down to 44 remaining units. Siegel confirmed that the $8 million cash deal includes keeping substantially all existing employees—known affectionately as “Hot Doggers”—including core corporate leadership personnel who have been with the brand for over two decades.

Pivoting Beyond Malls to the Las Vegas Strip
Under Amazing Brands—which also operates local staples like Pinkbox Doughnuts, Siegel’s Bagelmania, and Piero’s Italian Cuisine—Hot Dog on a Stick will undergo a comprehensive modernization campaign. Siegel plans to shift the brand away from traditional enclosed shopping malls toward high-visibility standalone drive-thrus, airport terminals, sports venues, and entertainment corridors.
“Hot Dog on a Stick has all the ingredients of a great American brand—strong brand recognition, a loyal following, and products that deliver genuine nostalgia,” stated Stephen Siegel. “This is about respecting everything people already love while thoughtfully evolving the brand for the next generation.”
Crucially, Amazing Brands is actively evaluating prime real estate along the Las Vegas Strip to construct a massive flagship location. The company is also exploring expanding the brand’s product lines into grocery retail through packaged lemonade offerings and licensing opportunities worldwide.
