Las Vegas’ only giraffe, Ozzie, a beloved resident of Lion Habitat Ranch, has passed away after suffering a fatal fall in the early hours of Friday, August 2nd. The ranch announced the devastating news on Instagram, sharing details of the incident and expressing their profound grief.
According to the post, Ozzie was startled from his sleep, causing him to stumble and fall. Despite the valiant efforts of the ranch’s staff, owners, and veterinarians, Ozzie was unable to recover from his injuries. The ranch is awaiting blood test results to determine the exact cause of the fall.
Ozzie, a 9-year-old male giraffe, was born at Tanganyika Wildlife Park in Wichita, Kansas. He arrived at Lion Habitat Ranch at the tender age of 8 months, standing at an impressive 8 feet tall. Over the years, he became a cherished member of the ranch’s family and a popular attraction for visitors.
