LAS VEGAS – The Las Vegas community is once again showing its solidarity and generosity by organizing a fundraising event to support the victims of the Maui fires. The Downtown Container Park is hosting a free all-ages community event titled ‘9th Island Love For Lahaina’ on Sunday, Aug. 20, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
In partnership with the Las Vegas AAPI Chamber and Mahalo-Halo Las Vegas, the event aims to raise funds for the Maui Fire Relief Fund, Salvation Army, and Maui Food Bank. The event will feature Hawaiian artists, vendors, and entertainers, creating a vibrant and heartfelt atmosphere of aloha.
Attendees can enjoy a variety of local vendors, live performances by over a dozen entertainers, Hawaiian food trucks, and more. The organizers have committed to donating a portion of the event’s proceeds to support organizations assisting those affected by the fires. Additionally, the entertainers performing during the event have generously waived their performance fees to contribute to the cause.
Container Park General Manager James Gonzales expressed the importance of supporting the Hawaiian community in Las Vegas and emphasized their commitment to helping in any way they can.
As the Las Vegas community comes together once again to lend a helping hand, the ‘9th Island Love For Lahaina’ event serves as a powerful reminder of the strength and unity that can arise from collective compassion.
