Las Vegas, NV – January 19, 2024 – An exotic dancer at the Spearmint Rhino club on the Las Vegas Strip is facing serious charges after allegedly stealing two luxury watches worth approximately $40,000 from a client. Jennifer Tapia Alvarado, 24, is accused of grand larceny and burglary in connection with the incident, which reportedly occurred in August 2023.
According to court documents, Tapia Alvarado, known as “Hazel” to the victim, met the man at the club and agreed to drive him home after he became intoxicated. They arrived at his residence around 5 a.m., and while the man invited her to stay, they did not have any sexual relations, according to police statements.
The victim, whose name remains confidential, had placed his Rolex watch and $800 in cash on his bedside table before falling asleep. When he awoke, both the watch and the money were still present, but Tapia Alvarado had vanished without notice, raising his suspicion.
Further investigation revealed the disappearance of two additional Rolex watches from the victim’s closet, a two-tone “Bluesy” and a “Starbucks” submariner model, totaling $40,000 in value. The victim attempted to contact Tapia Alvarado but discovered he had been blocked on her phone, prompting him to file a police report.
Detectives traced Tapia Alvarado’s movements using her phone’s location data, confirming her presence at the club and the victim’s home on the night of the alleged incident. Additionally, Uber rideshare records corroborated the victim’s account.
Tapia Alvarado was arrested on January 9th and is scheduled to appear in court on February 22nd. She was released on her own recognizance.
