Las Vegas Man Accused of Killing His Mother on Mother’s Day

LAS VEGAS – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has reported that a man is accused of killing his mother on Mother’s Day. According to LVMPD, they received a report of an unresponsive female at a residence in the 6100 block of Caprino Avenue near Smoke Ranch and Jones at approximately 6:25 a.m. on Sunday. Police officers arrived at the location and discovered a woman in the backyard of the residence who had sustained multiple stab wounds. Medical professionals were summoned, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

After an investigation, LVMPD identified the woman’s son, Aaron Cooney, aged 49, as the suspect in the stabbing. LVMPD has reported that Cooney is alleged to have stabbed his mother multiple times. Cooney was transported to the Clark County Detention Center and charged with open murder, according to LVMPD.

  1. Medical personnel have been the traditional remedy for medical emergencies. Not some badge pusher with a ticket book.

  2. Not too long ago, there were always lines that people just didn’t cross. Even people that had the urge to pull something like this were always suppressed by the fear of punishment. What vanished now is there no longer exists a greater fear of punishment. Either in this world or the next. I knew somebody that the only thing that stopped them from killing themselves was that they’d miss TV wrestling each week. And that’s all.
