LAS VEGAS – Midnight Mass was held in Catholic churches across the country as locals and tourists alike gathered in Las Vegas to celebrate Christmas.
A Christmas performance was held at the Guardian Angel Cathedral, which is located just off the Las Vegas Strip, followed by a midnight Mass.
“Because Las Vegas is a 24-hour city, this is a fantastic method for us to let the world know that we are called to pray all day long,” Bishop Gregory Gordon, auxiliary bishop for the Diocese of Las Vegas, told 8 News Now. “I expect the cathedral to be packed and the faith to be apparent.”
Large gatherings have been reduced since the outbreak, but with Christmas being on a Sunday this year, capacity is expected to be high.
