Low Pressure System Brings Wind and Chance of Rain to Las Vegas Area

LAS VEGAS – Residents of Las Vegas can expect south and southwest winds to continue throughout Wednesday, with gusts of up to 40 mph. The mixture of sun and clouds from Tuesday will continue, with highs around 79 degrees Fahrenheit.
The region’s pollen levels are expected to remain high, with olive, ragweed, oak, juniper, and cedar being the most common pollens.
Wednesday night will bring mostly cloudy skies and valley lows of around 54 degrees Fahrenheit. Winds are expected to decrease to 5-15 mph overnight.
On Thursday, a new weather system is expected to bring more wind and a chance of light rain showers. The highest odds of rain will be in the morning, with a slight chance in the afternoon. The coolest temperatures of the week will also occur on Thursday, with valley highs dropping to 68-69 degrees Fahrenheit.
The upcoming weekend will see temperatures rising, with afternoon breezes and gusts around 25 mph. There is also a slight chance of mountain showers possible through Saturday.
The long-term forecast is for continued warming trends, with valley highs expected to reach the low to mid-80s next week.
