Man Found Dead After Leaving Note at Stranded Car in Desert

Las Vegas, Nevada – A man was found deceased in the Nevada desert after leaving a note at his stranded vehicle.
The Nye County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) responded to the incident on Monday, which occurred between Hafen Ranch Road and the Pahrump Valley Highway.
After discovering the abandoned car, deputies attempted to locate the driver and requested assistance from Search and Rescue. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department provided aerial support with a helicopter.
A note left at the vehicle indicated that the man was walking towards NV-160. Approximately two hours later, he was found deceased about a quarter-mile away from the car.
Metro’s air unit recovered the body, which was then transferred to Nye County officials. The Southern Nevada Off-Road Recovery team also retrieved the stranded vehicle and brought it to a paved area.
The circumstances surrounding the man’s death are currently under investigation by the Nye County Sheriff’s Office.
