LAS VEGAS, NV — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is calling on the community to help identify a suspect caught on camera stealing a service dog from an elderly woman in the East Valley.

The incident occurred in March at a business in the 5100 block of Boulder Highway, near Nellis Boulevard. However, surveillance images were officially released today, Friday, April 17, as detectives have exhausted initial leads.

Surveillance footage shows an unidentified woman grabbing the dog and fleeing the scene in a white Toyota minivan. For the victim, the loss is more than emotional; the dog serves as a vital medical alert and mobility lifeline.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of the woman or the location of the vehicle is urged to contact Metro’s Southeast Area Command at 702-828-3206 and reference event LLV260300071235. Anonymous tips can also be submitted via Crime Stoppers of Nevada.
