MGM Resorts Check-In Glitch Resolved After Causing Long Lines

An afternoon computer outage at MGM Resorts International in Las Vegas caused delays for guests checking in on Tuesday, but the issue has since been resolved, according to the company.
“The front desk hotel booking system was down briefly this afternoon and was restored shortly after. Everything running normally since,” an MGM Resorts spokesperson confirmed via email to the Las Vegas Sun.
However, the brief outage wasn’t without consequences. Videos shared on social media showed long lines forming at popular MGM properties like New York-New York, Luxor, and Excalibur. One frustrated visitor claimed they waited for three hours at the New York-New York check-in desk.
While the cause of the outage remains unknown, this isn’t the first time MGM Resorts has faced technical difficulties. Last September, a cyberattack caused significant disruptions, preventing guests from using credit cards, crashing the BetMGM sports betting app and company websites, and even hindering digital access to guest rooms.
Thankfully, Tuesday’s outage proved less severe and was resolved quickly. MGM Resorts has yet to comment on the cause of the issue.
