Pre-Dawn Impact at Signalized Intersection

According to evidence gathered by LVMPD Collision Investigation detectives and first reported by the Las Vegas Sun and FOX5 Vegas, the collision unfolded at approximately 5:15 a.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.

Investigators determined that the cargo van and the motorcycle were traveling in opposite directions along South Pecos Road approaching Patrick Lane.

As the cargo van initiated a left turn through the intersection on a yellow traffic signal that was transitioning to red, the 37-year-old motorcyclist failed to stop for the red signal.

The motorcycle entered the intersection against the light and slammed directly into the cargo van.

The force of the impact violently ejected the rider from the motorcycle onto the asphalt roadway.

Southbound and northbound lanes on Pecos Road between Sunset Road and Patrick Lane remained closed for several hours Wednesday morning while Fatal Detail detectives mapped skid marks, recovered telemetry data, and documented debris.
