Federal law enforcement is cracking down on dangerous criminals entering the country, as FBI and ICE agents arrested an MS-13 gang member at Harry Reid International Airport on Friday. The fugitive, who was on a government watch list, arrived in Las Vegas on a flight from New York before being taken into custody.
The FBI’s Las Vegas field office confirmed the arrest in a post on X, emphasizing that cooperation between federal agencies is essential in keeping violent criminals off the streets.
“This arrest emphasizes the vital importance of teamwork in safeguarding our community,” the agency said in a statement.
MS-13, a transnational criminal organization, originated in Los Angeles and has since expanded its reach throughout Central America and into cities across the United States. Known for its brutal tactics, drug trafficking, and violent crimes, the gang has been a major focus of law enforcement efforts.
This arrest comes as ICE expands its capacity in Southern Nevada to detain individuals in federal custody, reflecting a growing emphasis on tackling gang-related crime and illegal immigration threats.
With ongoing concerns about border security and the presence of violent gangs, law enforcement’s proactive efforts send a clear message: dangerous criminals are not welcome in Nevada.
