Minden, NV – A new report from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has shed light on a fatal plane crash that occurred at the Minden-Tahoe Airport in August.

On August 20th, an experimental amateur-built Lockwood Air Cam N2412Y aircraft was heavily damaged in an accident that resulted in the death of the pilot and serious injuries to the passenger.

According to the NTSB report, the plane took off from runway 34 and experienced a series of unusual maneuvers before crashing. Airport staff witnessed the plane level off after takeoff, followed by a brief drop in the right wing. The plane then leveled again before descending nose-down and ultimately crashing into the ground.

The investigation found that the plane came to rest inverted on the right edge of runway 34, approximately 3,900 feet from the approach end.

The NTSB is continuing to investigate the cause of the accident, and further details are expected to be released in the coming months.
