Pedestrian Killed in North Las Vegas Hit-and-Run, Suspect Arrested

A woman in her 30s tragically lost her life early Saturday morning after being struck by a vehicle in North Las Vegas. The driver fled the scene but was later apprehended by police.
Incident Details
Shortly after midnight, officers with the North Las Vegas Police Department responded to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian near North 5th Street and Brooks Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered a woman lying in the roadway who had apparently been struck by a vehicle. Medical personnel arrived and pronounced her dead at the scene.
Investigation Leads to Arrest
Following leads, investigators located a Dodge Charger with significant front-end damage parked near North 5th Street and Carey Avenue. Through investigation, officers determined the vehicle was connected to the hit-and-run crash.
Police Provide Preliminary Information
According to a North Las Vegas Police Department release, the woman, for reasons still under investigation, was seated in the roadway when the southbound Dodge Charger struck her. The driver continued driving after the collision but was eventually stopped near Carey Avenue.
Arrest and Charges
Authorities arrested 24-year-old Donald Boike on charges of failing to stop at the scene of a fatal accident and failing to render aid at an accident scene.
