A woman is facing multiple felony charges, including attempted murder, following a shooting incident reported last month, according to law enforcement officials.
Police say Cheyenne Gonzales, 39, was taken into custody by the Wickenburg Police Department in Arizona after a traffic stop on Dec. 15, 2025. The arrest followed an investigation into a shooting reported two days earlier in the area of East Lake Mead Boulevard and Arnon Road.
Officers responding to the scene on Dec. 13 found a 40-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds. Investigators said the victim told detectives he had met Gonzales earlier that night at La Hacienda Night Club, where she offered to give him a ride to a nearby convenience store.
According to the arrest report, the man stated that during the drive, Gonzales began behaving erratically and appeared to believe she was being followed. When the vehicle stopped, the victim told police he became concerned after Gonzales allegedly retrieved a handgun and began loading it. He said he exited the vehicle out of fear and was then shot twice in the groin area.
Authorities said Gonzales left the scene following the shooting. The victim was able to flag down a passing vehicle, and emergency services were contacted within minutes.
Detectives later returned to the nightclub as part of the investigation. A witness who identified herself as a regular patron assisted officers in confirming Gonzales’ identity, according to police.
Court records indicate Gonzales remains in custody without bail. She is scheduled to appear in court again on Jan. 13.
