Skydiving Accident South of Las Vegas Sends Two to Hospital in Critical Condition

Authorities are investigating a skydiving incident in Jean that left two people critically injured on Wednesday. The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed the event occurred around noon, with Las Vegas Metropolitan Police reporting that both individuals were transported from the scene in critical condition.
According to the FAA, its role in such investigations is limited to examining the packing of both the main and reserve parachutes, as well as reviewing the flight procedures for the pilot and aircraft. Officials emphasized that if no regulatory violations are found, the matter is referred to local law enforcement for further investigation.
The FAA clarified it does not determine the cause of skydiving accidents. Additional information may be provided by the United States Parachute Association, which oversees skydiving safety standards.
