LAS VEGAS — A pre-dawn transit disaster in the heart of Las Vegas left commuters in a gridlock today after a semi-tractor trailer carrying 28 cattle overturned in the “Spaghetti Bowl” interchange. The Nevada Highway Patrol reports the incident occurred on the critical transition ramp from Interstate 15 South to Interstate 11 South.
Emergency responders spent the early morning hours securing the livestock and uprighting the heavy vehicle. While the driver escaped without injury, the transition ramp remained closed for over six hours, forcing thousands of drivers to detour onto IR15 North or surface streets. The wreckage was cleared shortly before the 10:00 AM hour, but residual delays are expected to ripple through the downtown interchange for the remainder of the morning.
