Stray Bulldog “Suzie” Rescued in North Las Vegas
By TheNevadaGlobeStaff, June 20, 2025 10:56 am
A beloved English Bulldog named “Suzie” was discovered in North Las Vegas, paralyzed and barely breathing, rescued near a light pole, and rushed into emergency care by Vegas Pet Rescue Project. The small dog, suffering from what veterinarians suspect is a spinal injury, was found in distress late Wednesday. Vets noted that bulldogs—with their flat faces—don’t handle heat well, and Suzie’s abandonment in desert conditions may have pushed her beyond the brink.
Thankfully, kind strangers alerted rescuers just in time. Suzie was transported to VEG ER For Pets, where the medical team began intensive treatment, including spinal evaluations and supportive care. It’s clear that neglect and abandonment put her at serious risk, but thanks to swift intervention, there’s hope.
This incident highlights the importance of personal responsibility in pet ownership. Furry companions deserve care, not callous disposal. The LV pet rescue encourages donations and community support to cover Suzie’s treatment—you can reach them directly or visit their donation portal.
