A judge has ordered the release of a 17-year-old suspect accused of participating in the 2023 cyberattacks on major Las Vegas casinos, stating that he is neither a flight risk nor a danger to the community.
Under strict conditions, the teen must stay in Clark County under his parents’ supervision, surrender control of cell phones and electronics, and is barred from using the internet unless for school or with a parent present. Prosecutors say they intend to try him as an adult, with a decision expected at a November hearing. The suspect previously surrendered on charges including extortion, unlawful computer acts, and misuse of identifying information.
