Teens Charged in ‘Drug Deal Gone Bad’ That Killed Local Tattoo Artist

LAS VEGAS, NV — Two young men are facing a litany of felony charges after a late-night transaction at a northwest valley apartment complex turned into a deadly ambush, claiming the life of a local tattoo artist.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police (LVMPD) announced the arrests of Miles Spivey, 18, and Daequan McGee following a week-long investigation into the shooting that occurred on the night of Monday, March 30, 2026.
Ambush at Sky Pointe
The incident unfolded at approximately 9:45 PM at an apartment complex in the 5800 block of Sky Pointe Drive. Investigators say the victim—identified by family as a local tattoo artist—and his wife had met the two suspects to complete a “transaction.”
Police describe the meeting as a luring attempt. During the exchange, the suspects allegedly produced firearms and opened fire. The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while his wife was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Charges and Arrests
Spivey was taken into custody on April 3, 2026, and booked into the Clark County Detention Center. This afternoon, Wednesday, April 8, police confirmed that both Spivey and McGee are facing a series of heavy charges, including:

Child Abuse/Neglect The child abuse charges stem from the presence of children during the violent encounter, though no minors were physically harmed. Both suspects are being held without bail as they await their initial court appearances.
