Coachella, California – A Las Vegas man, Vem Miller, 49, is at the center of a disturbing incident involving firearms and allegations of a potential third assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. Miller, who identifies as a Trump supporter, revealing details about his arrest after a security checkpoint incident at a recent Trump rally in Coachella.

Riverside County sheriff’s officials detained Miller after they discovered guns, ammunition, and several fake passports in his vehicle during a routine security check. He stated, “I roll down my window, and I say, you know, just out of common courtesy, want to let you know that I have firearms in the car.” He expressed surprise when the officer requested that he pull over instead of acknowledging his courtesy.

Although Miller is currently out of custody, he shared a photo of his citation, outlining two misdemeanors related to firearm violations. “They found two passports in my car during the search on Saturday,” he said, noting one passport was issued by the United States and the other by Canada.

Miller explained that the Canadian passport bears his birth name, Vem Miller-Yenovkian, while the U.S. passport lists him as Vem Steinberg. Court records indicate that he legally changed his name to Vem Miller in 2022, a decision made through Breeden and Associates law firm. According to the documents, Miller has resided in Clark County, Nevada, since August 2020.

Born in North York, Toronto, Ontario, on October 26, 1974, Miller detailed the reasons behind his name change. “I wanted a name that voters would remember easily when I ran for a seat in the Nevada state assembly in 2022, but I lost,” he said. He added that he adopted the name Steinberg to protect himself while working as an investigative journalist in war zones, a claim not yet verified by News 3.

“Through the passport office again, lawfully, of course, I explained to them, I’m about to travel to these regions where my Armenian last name could get me killed,” Miller said. “I want a last name that would actually not result in that.”
