Tuesday Snowfall in Lee Canyon Was Around 6 Inches and More Is Expected Overnight

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – Tuesday is a wonderful day for skiers and snowboarders in Southern Nevada, particularly in Lee Canyon.

Lee Canyon has gotten nearly a half-foot of snow since this morning, with more on the way tonight.

The area might expect roughly 2 feet of snow by the conclusion of the storm on Wednesday.

Other ski slopes in California and Utah have declared early openings.

Their marketing director stated that they may open early, but it’s too early to tell and they don’t want to hurry things.

“We really like to take our time,” Jim Seely, Lee Canyon Marketing Director, said. “Just have everything nice and ready from the trails to our lodge and everything–all of our hiring done because we really do like to open with a great atmosphere for people to come up. We don’t like to rush our opening.”

The new snow will allow them to start making artificial snow this week.

They now aim to launch in early December.

Saturday is their “Pray for Snow” event at the lodge, when skiers and snowboarders are welcome to start begin the winter ski season together.

For the winter season, the resort is also hiring. Their employment fair is scheduled for November 19.
