
White Powdery Substance Prompts Partial Evacuation at Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Headquarters

NEVADA – On Thursday afternoon, a white, powdery substance was discovered at the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police headquarters, prompting a partial evacuation of the building. According to a source with direct knowledge of the situation, the substance was sent to the department’s records division. As a result, a heavy law enforcement presence could be seen outside the department’s headquarters on M.L.K. Boulevard and Alta Drive in the central Las Vegas Valley.
In a statement to media, Metro officials confirmed that a “suspicious package” was received at Building C, which houses the Records and Fingerprint Bureau. As a precautionary measure, the building was closed for the day. Officials also added that the incident is currently under investigation.
