By TheNevadaGlobeStaff, January 1, 2025 10:36 am
According to NV Energy, power is restored to most customers after being cut off for 2,700 plus in Reno. The cause for the outage was an elderly man driving through the fence of an apartment complex near Mount Rose Highway and I-580 and crashing into a transformer box for reasons not yet disclosed. Authorities confirmed that the man was not injured and that there were no signs of “impairment.”
The fire department requested the power be turned off around 3:50pm and power is expected to be fully restored after midnight.
