Crews Respond to Fire on Slide Mountain

TRUCKEE, Calif. – Crews responded to a fire on Slide Mountain above Davis Creek Park Tuesday night.
Hand crews hiked for more than two hours to attack the Slide Mountain Fire because the site was inaccessible by vehicle.
As of Wednesday morning, crews on the scene worked on a containment line around the fire before sunrise. According to authorities with Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue (TMFR) the fire is approximately 5 to 10 acres, with heavy brush and timber fuels.
No buildings are threatened.
Authorities say good progress is being made.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
