
Inmate at Washoe County Detention Facility died after “medical event

NEVADA – An inmate at the Washoe County Detention Facility died after being transferred to a local hospital for treatment following a “medical event,” according to the WCSO.
Deputies from the WCSO came to the hospital on Wednesday after learning of the inmate’s death.
Their preliminary inquiry revealed no evidence of wrongdoing or criminal behavior. The inmate’s name is being withheld until notification of nearest of kin.
The inmate was initially booked into the Washoe County Detention Facility on September 25 of this year with pre-existing medical problems that they were treated for while in custody.
Washoe County did not provide any additional information.
