Man Arrested on Open Murder Charges After Motel Death

A Reno man is behind bars facing open murder charges after a woman was found dead in a motel room late Tuesday night.
On May 21st, just before 9:40 pm, the Reno Police Department responded to a call reporting an injured woman at the Parkway Lodge on 49 Park Street.
Officers arriving on the scene discovered a female victim with significant injuries. Medical personnel attempted life-saving measures, but unfortunately, she was pronounced deceased.
Investigators report that those involved in the incident remained at the scene and have been cooperating with the investigation. Jack Willhoit, 42, was arrested for open murder and booked into the Washoe County Jail.
The Reno Police Department emphasizes that this appears to be an isolated event and there is no threat to the public.
