RENO, Nev. (775 Times, NV Globe) – The community now has a new sheriff.
After beating Frank Hunewill in the November election, Brad Pope was sworn in as the Lyon County sheriff on Tuesday morning.
By placing command posts in each patrol area, Pope, a retired sergeant, is stirring things up a bit at the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office. He stated that with advice from the sheriff’s office about policy and procedure, they will run their substations as their own police agency.
