Parents and Children in Washoe County Are Asking When Lessons and Extracurricular Activities Would Be Canceled Due to the Fire Smoke

NEVADA – With smoke in the Truckee Meadows, parents and students are wondering about canceling school and sports in Washoe County.
The Washoe County School District’s policy requires air quality exceeding 300 and a forecast predicting conditions staying the same or worse.
WCSD stated asthmatic kids and adults should follow their action plan and keep medicine ready.
The Mosquito Fire in Placer and El Dorado counties have sent unhealthy to dangerous smoke into northern Nevada. Wildfire smoke will linger for days.
