Reno Woman Dead in Wrong-Way Head-On Crash in Sparks

SPARKS, NV – A Reno woman is dead following a wrong-way head-on collision that occurred early Friday morning on Greg Street in Sparks. The incident took place around 2:30 am near Marietta Way.
According to police reports, 31-year-old Candy Godkin of Reno was driving eastbound on Greg Street when her vehicle collided head-on with a car traveling in the opposite direction. The impact of the crash caused both vehicles to roll over.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene and found Godkin trapped inside her vehicle. Despite their efforts to extricate her, she was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other car was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries.
Police suspect that impairment may have been a factor in the crash, but the investigation is still ongoing. They are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact Secret Witness at 775-322-4900.
