RENO, Nev. (775 Times, NV Globe) – Six Single Role Paramedic jobs are available with the Reno Fire Department (RFD). Single Role Paramedics have reportedly been included into RFD’s operations for the first time by a local fire department.
According to reports, each of the six posts will have a two-person crew that will react to emergencies in a transport ambulance.
Being the oldest fire department in the area, RFD claims to be proud to advance to the next phase of the emergency services sector.
“As our region continues to grow and the need for emergency medical services increases, the Reno Fire Department and the City of Reno are looking forward to continued collaboration and increasing support to our regional partners and the communities we serve. Our expectation is that this will be a self-sustained program allowing us to remain fiscally responsible while expanding needed services to the community,” said Fire Chief David Cochran.
Single Role Paramedic staff will be given a rotating schedule of 48 on and 96 off for an average of a 56-hour workweek as members of the Reno Fire Department.
They will occupy one of the fire stations as their home and place of employment.
According to RFD, the starting salary for a ‘Single Role Paramedic’ is $51,076.48. There is no state income tax, no social security participation, paid medical, dentistry, vision, and life insurance for the employee, thirteen paid holidays, vacation and sick leave, and deferred compensation programs are also offered.
